I’ve been dying to see this movie since I heard about, and I finally got to watch it!

In 2014, in attempt to counteract global warming though climate engineering, backfires results an ice age. Nearly all of life on Earth is extinct. The remaining humans are boarded on a train run by a man named Wilford. The rich are at the front of the train and the poor at the tail.

The year is 2031, Curtis (Chris Evans) is ready fight for freedom. With the help Gilliam (John Hurt) and his follower Edgar (Jamie Bell) they must first set free prisoner Namgoong Minsu (kang-ho Song), who created the train’s security system, and his clairvoyant daughter Yona (Ah-sung Ko).

The train is controlled by this guy named Wilford, however for the most part of the film we see his minion and his guards. Mason ( Tilda Swinton) is the ugly woman that announces the rules for Wilford. She is to be fear, yet I couldn’t help but laugh whenever she was in a scene.

She’s a mixer of Professor Trelawney (her looks) and Professor Umbridge (her bitchness)

The only way the prisoner agreed to help Curtis and the crew is if they receive Kronole, a drug that their both addicted to. They fight their way to the front, taking anyone in their way.

Edgar thinks highly of Curtis, and you can see that he wants to be anywhere Curtis goes. Curtis, on the other hand, doesn’t want the praise, you learn why closer to the end of the film.

Each section of the train you learn just how much the people from the tail had to endure. From eating blocks of protein, these black blocks that look like squishy coal. Turns out it’s made out of bugs.

Curtis is outraged and uses that as fuel to continue to fight for their freedom. Chris Evans was amazing in this film! You’re so use to him playing Captain America that when you see this film you sort of don’t recognize him.

I knew this movie was going to be, and it turned out to be awesome! Action packed, creative story line, great cast and overall a hell of a ride!

The movie touches the subject of how far humanity will go to survive and the outcome of those actions.

  1. Just saw it last week and it was awesome. I literally had goosebumps.
I wish Evans made more films like this. He really could pull off difficult characters. This was his high performance.
